Who needs clothes...

...when you've got jammies! Somedays we do bother to actually get dressed:)

Clearly, it was nap time and he couldn't wait for the bed...I had literally turned around for two seconds!
Playing peek-a-boo with Sissy!

KISSES!!!!!

Ride 'em cowboy, and girl!

The time has flown! Cale will be 1 in three weeks, I can't believe it!!!! He took his first steps on June 31st and now is full-out walking in literally days. It's so funny seeing him waddle around. It brings me such joy seeing him round the corner. He now says "ow" when he falls or thinks something should hurt and "ahh oooo" instead of "uh oh," it's SOO cute. When you put the phone up to his ear he says, "bye"...he's a man of few words. Ella is such a big helper and loves him so much, though he does bother her sometimes getting into her stuff...little brothers! She starts MDO in September and is very excited. I am too, but am going to miss her terribly. It's only for four hours, but when she began to get frustrated at not being able to read and arguing with me about what letters are I knew it was time. I love spending my days playing with them and watching them interact with each other, which they do so much.

Look out Paula Dean!

We have a small truck load of peaches. So, last night Matt and Ella put their culinary abilities to good use and baked us a peach cobbler of epic proportion...it was DE-VINE (and, I think they had fun doing it!!) Cale loved it, we couldn't shovel it in fast enough and forget the plate, Ella was digging hers right out of the middle:)
Up close and personal...
And, as for this not-so-little booger, well, he really enjoyed his purple crayon this morning!

So, we went from peach to purple in a matter of hours! Life with a boy is SOOOO different...there is NEVER a dull moment:)

This is what...

older sisters are for...
PLAYING DRESS UP!!! I came into the playroom the other day and this is what I found-Cale in a pretty pink bow:) (Matt's gonna have a fit when he sees that I posted these, but it was really too funny not to share). The most hysterical part was that it didn't seem to bother him and he wore the bow longer than Ella ever would have at this age! I guess it just goes to show how masculine pink can really be!
Oh, yeah...sisters are also good for loving!!

Myrtle Beach

Last week Matt took off work and we took off to the beach. We went to South Carolina and spent the week with his family. It was of course nice to get away and let Cale enjoy some of his "firsts." We went swimming immediately when we arrived at MeMe and PaPa's house. I couldn't get Cale's clothes off and swim diaper on fast enough as he was trying to literally jump in the pool...he LOVES the water.
Ella made herself right at home as well.
Riding on the bouncy horse that used to be daddy's.The next morning we left for the beach...here is our first touch of sand...
Still checking it out.
DIVA...
Cale did A LOT of this...And again...
I couldn't even get his wet clothes off fast enough before he passed out as I was changing him. No, he didn't stay there, Matt took him inside.
Going to dinner.
Eating watermelon with PaPa...this is tradition. We used to do the same thing with Papa John when we were kids.
Cale and PaPa
My little "brownie berry"
Knocked out on Uncle Josh...you know you are really sleeping good when the paci just sort of hangs in limbo:)
Obviously, we had a great time and enjoyed the beach and our vacation very much!

Father's Day

I cannot think of any need in childhood as strong as the need for a father's protection.

~Sigmund Freud

Happy Father's day to my wonderful husband, my dad, Papa John, father-in-law and the rest of the dad's out there. Your's truly is such an important job and we appreciate all that you do!

Sweet memories...

Six years ago today, Matt proposed. What a special and wonderful day it was, I've been remembering it all day...what he did, what he said, how I felt. He asked me earlier if I had it to do over again would I say the same. Without a doubt, I absolutely would. Yes, to his request was one of the smartest things I ever did. There are few things I would do differently if I could...that is most definitely not one of them! I'm so blessed the Lord put him in my life and so thankful that he wanted to spend forever with me.

Because of that one question we have grown and matured as a couple and doubled as a family. I guess it really is just a testament to our Lord's best laid plans. Neither of us knew at that time what He had in store for us, but I'm so glad we followed His will.
